Whether it’s due to holiday shopping or the stress of cooking, wrapping and cleaning, most of us feel like we could use a lift in more ways than one during this hectic time of year. Our solution is a literal lift: the PDO thread lift, to be exact! Have you heard of it?

At Still Well by Dr. Stilwell, we recently expanded our aesthetic menu with PDO threads to help you achieve a smoother, tighter and more uplifted appearance without surgery or extensive downtime.

Why PDO Threads?

●      You deserve to love the way you look without spending weeks in recovery. A PDO thread lift can help you achieve a years-younger look with minimal to no downtime!

●      Sometimes, you need more than dermal fillers and Botox® to achieve the look you want. Don’t get us wrong — we love injectables! However, if you are looking for a skin tightening and skin lifting effect without adding volume, a thread lift may be an ideal choice for you.

What are PDO threads?

PDO stands for polydioxanone, which is a sterile, fully dissolvable material used for surgical sutures. PDO threads are fully dissolvable, which means there is no risk of scar tissue forming. While PDO threads fully dissolve within six months following their insertion, the age-defying benefits will continue for up to a year or longer, as the threads stimulate the body’s own production of collagen and elastin.

How does a PDO thread lift work?

One of the most common results of the natural aging process is a loss of volume, due to the declining production of collagen and elastin in our skin. As we lose volume, our facial contours can start to sag, leading to lines and wrinkles and crepiness. PDO threads provide a scaffolding-type of support structure beneath the skin, resulting in an immediate skin tightening, smoothing and lifting effect. However, since PDO threads stimulate the skin’s collagen and elastin production, you’ll continue to see age-defying benefits long after the threads have fully dissolved, up to a year or longer.

What happens during a PDO thread lift?

We will carefully inject PDO threads parallel to the skin’s surface using preloaded needles. We can place PDO threads almost anywhere on the body needing a “lift,” including the face, jawline, neck, chest, knees, abdomen and upper arms.
